What are the options for teeth straightening ?

Today's orthodontics offer more kinds of braces than ever before. Check out the options :

1. Metal braces/Traditional braces

These are the metal brackets and wires that most people picture when they hear the word "braces." However, modern brackets are smaller and less noticeable than the notorious "metal-mouth" braces than many adults remember. Plus, new heat-activated archwires use your body heat to help teeth move more quickly and less painfully than in the past.

2. Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are the same size and shape as metal braces, except that they have tooth-colored or clear brackets that blend in to teeth. Some even use tooth-colored wires to be even less noticeable.

3. Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are the same as traditional metal braces, except that the brackets and wires are placed on the inside of teeth.

4. Aligners

Aligners uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. And, no one can tell you are wearing Aligners because it's invisible! Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.

5. Self-Ligating Braces (No Rubber bands)

Standard braces use rubber bands to hold the wire onto your braces.
Advancements in technology now bring self-ligating braces onto the scene. Instead of rubber bands,  Self-Ligating Braces use a unique clip or movable door to hold the wire in place.  With Self-Ligating Braces, your teeth can stay cleaner and you can spend less time in your orthodontist's chair.

These are available in Metal & Ceramic types

  • Designed to move your teeth quickly
  • Potential for fewer and faster appointments
  • Allows for easy cleaning and reduces plaque build-up
  • Smooth, rounded edges provide added comfort

6. Gold Braces

Gold braces are similar to traditional metal braces in many ways. They are made of stainless steel, but are uniquely coated in gold. The gold coating may be considered a more cosmetic option than traditional metal braces.

7. Colored Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces with colored elastics straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With colored braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.
